the topic of the dead sea scrolls was actually very entertaining to me. it had more than to do with the usual religion. we had a little bit of history of how they were found. we got a little economics out of it, by tearing up the scrolls you can make more money. although seems a little odd that nomadic desert people would be interested more in money then like water or food or shelter.
more importantly though is how the scrolls connect us from today to the past, way far away past. these scrolls were found 60 or 70 years ago and they are still preserved and outdate the masoretic text that is the basis for our bible today. its historical evidence like this that helps someone like me help solidify religion. makes me wonder what else is hidden just waiting to be unearthed.
